With lines like these how could you your kids not enjoy the Toy Story movies?
Toy Story has been a part of my life for many years. I’ve always been a big fan of the movies and was more than happy to add them to my kids’ movie list – you know the list of movies that the parents won’t mind watching with kids? That one.
Toy Story 4 came out in 2019, as a surprise sequel to the Toy Story trilogy. This time, there are a bunch of new characters but it has the same brand of clever humour. Bonnie has made a spork into a new toy (Forky) and, when he experiences an existential crisis on a roadtrip and jumps out the RV on their roadtrip, it’s up to Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang to make a plan to set things right – thus setting the scene for an action-packed adventure – with a few new characters too.
Jeremy was lucky enough to receive a Buzz Lightyear action figure from the new Toy Story 4 collection. And can I tell you, I’m definitely parent #1 in the house right now. He is obsessed – he plays with it in the playroom and in the garden, he takes it for rides on his bike, it watches him eat, and (yes, you guessed it) it goes to sleep with him.
I mean seriously, who need the Christmas Elf when you have a Buzz?
I must admit, he’s pretty cool.
He’s quite big (18cm) and sturdy so I am hopeful he will last a good while, and his limbs can move quite flexibly, so he is great for posing and independent, imaginative play.
There is not only Buzz. You can also get Woody, Rex, Slinky, Jessie and Forkie. They are available separately (RSP R429.99) or you can buy all 6 characters in a special Toy Story 4 RV roadtrip packaging gift set.
These action figures are recommended for ages 3 and up and would make a great Christmas present.
They’re available at leading retailers.
