These days we take pictures of everything, and I’m not mad about it.

Looking at photos of my childhood or my travels has always been a thing for me – I used to spend hours creating photo journals, and I still look at them to this day.

When we did renovations at our house, wall art and decor was a focus for me. I have so many gorgeous photos of my boys (including the Beard who is irritatingly photogenic) and I want all the cool photos I have of them on display.

Wall art in South Africa

By a twist of fate, when I was making the decisions regarding the wall art and decor for our new walls, PrintWild got in touch with me for a collaboration.

They wanted to gift me three wall art pieces of my photos. Not just photo prints, but framed wall art and canvas prints.

PrintWild: Canvas printing and wall art decor

If you know me, you know I love no-mess-no-fuss. I have made a few photobooks and oh wow those are time-consuming. So I didn’t want any of that.

But this was so easy:

  • I choose which wall art and canvas prints I wanted.
  • I emailed the pictures.
  • The lovely Carissa let me know that my one photo wasn’t high-res enough so gently suggested I choose another.
  • I emailed another picture.
  • And the next thing they were delivered to my door.

And they’re gorgeous! The canvas print especially is something every visitor to my house comments on.

What did I choose?

For my big one, I went for a framed canvas print.

“The contemporary framed canvas photo uses a deep, slightly textured frame profile available in glossy white or black. The frame profile is 30mm x 30mm. The image is printed on the highest quality fine art canvas mounted on a sturdy backing board. When ordering, you can choose between the black or white frame profile depending on your preference.”

For my smaller ones, I chose Big 1s.

I think Big 1s are super cool because you can turn photos from your phone into cool wall art decor. Plus they’re super easy to put up.

“Inspired by the popularity of Faceblocks and follow a modern 1×1 aspect ratio. A high-resolution file is required to produce a finished product of 30cm x 30cm Most modern mobile phone images hold just enough pixel data. Big 1s are high-quality prints, mounted onto 16mm plywood, with an industrial hook and loop mounting system that lets you easily swap out your wall art as you wish.

The communication from the team was excellent from start to finish and I would highly recommend PrintWild for any canvas printing or framed prints you need to have done.

I’ve just put in an order for a few more prints so watch this space!

[And yes, I know I still need to actually put them up but life.]
