Shoes, shoes, more shoes and Superbalist’s new shoe range for kidlets

Hi. My name is Kirsten and I have a problem. If you know me you’re probably thinking you know what this problem is*, but I don’t think you do. It’s a secret issue I’ve been dealing with for years and I’ve never been able to get a handle on so I stopped trying and now I just live with it (and the Beard does to, because he doesn’t have a choice).

Anyway, here goes: this is my shoe cupboard….ok, fine, this is one of my shoe cupboards:

And these are the shoes I wear:

3 pairs of shoes - slops, pumps, sneakers

I buy shoes that can be worn for any occasion (and I mean taking my first steps on the moon or for when I get invited to a transvestite dress-up party – because you never know) but I live in the same three pairs of shoes until they die. Now I realise you’re looking at my three sad little pairs of shoes and judging me but give me a break: I’m a work-from-home mom and I’m pregnant. But no matter which three pairs of shoes I choose from my 89 pairs, the problem remains:Β I just can’t seem to stop buying shoes. Buying shoes and then not wearing them. Oops.

Now that I have Baby J and #2 on the way, the problem has just become exacerbated. Now I have the excuse of buying shoes for them and I don’t have the guilt of not wearing them. So that’s what I do.

Take these cuties from Superbalist, for example. I haven’t actually bought these yet but their new shoe range for the little kidlets is about to take my online shopping to a whole new level of marital problem. I mean, look at them:

And if #2 happens to be a girl, there’s no question she’s getting these:

Superbalist is also not helping by making it super easy to shop online on their app – for Android or iOSΒ – and if you’re a first-time buyer you get R250 off (R600 minimum spend).

With temptation like this around every corner surely you can’t blame me?
